It involves anticipating hazards and then taking action to prevent potential injuries and illnesses. This is the primary method for accident prevention and risk management. This course offers a unique and combined approach to the legalities of documenting these efforts along with combined cultural and collaborative efforts using a unique system developed by Barantas, Inc. Students will be taught:

  • The roles of hazard assessments
  • Methods for performing risk analysis
  • How to identify common precursors to incidents and accidents (’what if’ scenarios)
  • Prevention strategies at the root level
  • Investigating types of controls: at the source, along the path, at the worker
