Description

This course provides a general overview of the legislation which governs workers involved in a traffic control plan for a construction site. Participants will be taught how to develop an effective traffic control plan, and how to identify and control hazards related to road construction. This course is designed to help individuals meet the legal requirements with adequate written and oral instructions regarding directing vehicle traffic, and the signals to be used. Workers will learn to recognize and understand the appropriate signals to be used, as well as common Barriers, Markers, and Delineators. Workers will be provided with planning concepts for road layout, conditions, and appropriate speeds as well. This course applies to those involved in planning, communicating, and/or implementing the traffic control plans on a construction site. The Ontario Traffic Manual, Book 7: Temporary Conditions (field or office editions) will be required in class but will not be provided.
