This course provides the student-learner with an awareness of confined space entry hazards, legislation and guidelines, procedures and equipment detector selection, and practical rescue scenarios. The following modules will be covered:

  • Definition of a confined space
  • Restricted space versus confined space
  • Determining human occupancy
  • Causes of atmospheric and physical hazards
  • Acceptable atmospheric levels
  • Responsibilities under the confined space program
  • Rescues

Practical components to this course also involve:

  • Situational identification of a confined space
  • Developing a confined space program
  • Developing a rescue procedure
  • Filling out all applicable forms for a case study
