Description
This course is designed to ensure workers are fit tested properly and accurately to ensure they have proper working respiratory apparatuses to provide protection from airborne contaminants. The course goes through the outline of the fit testing program as regulated by the CSA standard Selection, Care and Use of Respirators Z94.4-11, as well as the requirements to achieve compliance company wide.
The fit test performed utilizes subjective methods of that of the student. All participants will go through the 10-15 minute process to ensure the equipment they are using is effective in protecting them from airborne hazards. As well, workers will understand the types of hazards with regards to certain scopes, be able to select the appropriate type of respiratory protection in the future, and identify when there may be a problem with their respirator.
